About Michael Diaz
Michael T. Diaz (born 1985 in Miami, Florida) is a modern painter, graphic production artist and singer songwriter/musician living in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. With a mixed background tracing back to Spain and the Dominican Republic on his fathers side and Guatemala on his mothers side, his family is very diverse and filled with culture. He studied art at the Dillard Center for the Arts and the University of Central Florida and after experimenting with many forms of art, he focused on painting, digital graphic art, and music. His style has been described as modern surrealistic expressionism with an emphasis on color, rhythm and spirituality. Diaz is considered a pioneering artist with his dazzling paintings and music. Diaz believes that "theres something more to art then just what we can see, hear and even feel from it." He feels that the energy created by our very existence is something that we should pay attention to. Each piece has a certain rhythm and expression that also shows in his music becoming almost a kind of seamless visual and audible expression while also giving a glimpse into spirituality.
Michael T. Diaz is an emerging artist that has captivated his audiences with his untraditional artistic direction and continues to push the boundaries of his work with every piece he creates. And it is without a doubt that Diaz will continue to evolve and grow with our worlds unrelenting changing times as well.
Artist Statement
Whether its painting about my personal experiences or something I've observed or felt, I always include spiritual energy through my work. Through color, form, and movement I bring the spiritual side of life to life. I believe that every human being has an immense amount of spiritual energy and I communicate with that part of them. Often using acrylic on canvas as a medium but also diving into other mediums as well are the tools I use to shed light on this often overlooked part of humanity.
